Sri Jagadguru Chandrashekaranatha Swamiji Institute of Technology (SJCIT) was established in September 1986 and is situated about five kilometers from Chickballapur town. On the Bangalore-Hyderabad National highway about 60 Kms. from Bangalore, capital of Karnataka. The college is affiliated to Bangalore university and is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.

The  Organisation, The Adichunchanagiri Maha Samsthana Mutt, with its roots firmly embedded in the folds of time (about 1500 yrs) SPACE AND RELIGION  (on a rocky hill about 100 kms west of Bangalore City) has been working  towards the betterment of human life and society.

Following the  'Guru  -  Shishya'   tradition, the mutt has been striving hard to elevate mankind slowly but steadily.

The mutt's development activities of social service gained an accelarated momentum in the form of the present Pontiff, Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Balagangadharanatha Swamiji, 71st in the holy lineage, who ascended the revered seat in 1974. Under his stewardship, the Mutt galvanised its activities of social service through education of the people, spreading far and wide, and to every nook and corner of the State. With its headquarters in Bangalore, the Mutt now has one Medical College, Two Engineering Colleges, Polytechnics, Degree Colleges etc.,

RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR ADMISSION :-
Admission to 4 years B.E.degree course is open to the students who have passed 10+2 scheme of education or its equivalent examination with minimum of 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The application forms and prospectus can be obtained in person or by post at the following address on payment of prescribed fee.

Foreign students are also admitted to the B.E. courses. They must hold a valid VISA. The fees for the entire course is to be paid in US Dollars as stipulated by orders of the Government of Karnataka and the Supereme Court of India. Any revision in the fees will be legally bound.

TELECOMMUNICATION ENGINEERING
This Department has just started functioning since Sept. 96 & is in the process of building up Laboratories and Staff.

DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICS :
The Department is well equipped with facilities to train the students at first year level. It has sophisticated equipment such as Signal Generator (Analog & Digital types), Power Supply, Optical Bench etc.

DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY:
The department provides the necessary infrastructure for the good understanding of the basics of Chemistry in the first year level. In addition to the usual apparatus provided in the laboratory, the department also has advanced equipment such as Electronic Digital Balance, UV-visible spectro-photometer, spectro-calorimeter. Digital and manual pH meters, conductivity meters etc.,

LIBRARY :
The library is well equipped with large number of volumes of text and reference books covering all branches of Science and Engineering. An innovative and unique scheme of Self Financing Scheme is in vogue where by, students can borrow the books for a period of six months on nominal payment.The library provides good reading room having popular weekly/ fortnightly/ monthly magazines.

HOSTEL:
Hostel facilities are available for both boys and girls, which accommodates 300 boy students, in the College Capmus and 100 girl students in Chickballapur town. Mess is run on cost sharing basis. The mess charges vary from Rs.450/- to Rs.500/- per month.

TRANSPORT:
The college has adequate transport facilities for students and staff members to commute from Chickballapur to college premises and also from Bangalore. Chickballapur town is well connected by train and bus (Government and private) services.
